The platform’s new offering includes more than 10,000 hours of content, featuring 200 movies and 13 free ad-supported television channels (known as FAST channels), made possible through partnership agreements with leading content providers in the region, according to a statement.
“With the launch of our AVOD service, we are removing barriers to entry and making high-quality Spanish-language content accessible to a much broader audience,” said Luis Guillermo Villanueva, Chief Operating Officer of Somos Next, creator of the FlixLatino brand.
Content catalog
FlixLatino’s AVOD service offers a selection of movies, series, and live channels that users can enjoy without a subscription. The platform features a variety of genres including drama, comedy, thriller, and family content.
Some of the standout titles in the catalog include 2067, a sci-fi story about a man sent into a dystopian future to save humanity from environmental collapse; Atrevidas, a series starring bold women who confront social and identity challenges; and Antes de que cante el gallo, a suspense film that portrays a young woman’s coming-of-age journey in Puerto Rico.
Meanwhile, the platform’s 13 FAST channels provide continuous programming from major Latin American networks such as TV Azteca, Caracol Televisión, RCN Televisión, and Cine en Español, offering content ranging from telenovelas and movies to entertainment programming.
Growth strategy
In addition to this launch, FlixLatino stated that it aims to continue its strategic growth by expanding its free offering. Plans include increasing its content library with more movies and series, adding new FAST channels, introducing live and on-demand sports events, and enhancing personalization and content discovery features.
“The rapid adoption of free streaming among Hispanics in the United States validates our expansion strategy into AVOD and FAST. This allows us to grow faster, reach new audiences, and build a long-term monetization engine through advertising and partnerships,” Villanueva concluded.
